The SR series of 3D printers are machines that use plastic wire to create 3D objects.
In most cases, SR can print 3D models in stl format, and the file models need to be pre-processed using slicing software before printing.
In the case of Cura, for example, the slicing software slices the stl file into layers, and the information in each layer is automatically converted into a language that the printer understands, indicating the path and rate of movement of the axes during the printing process.
In addition to this, the slicing software is able to integrate a variety of parameter settings into the generated code, such as the print temperature of the wire, the extrusion speed of the printer, and generate supports for certain parts of the printed model.
The Delta printer moves using a delta coordinate system, with the extruder head suspended in mid-air and the arms attached to three vertical columns arranged in a triangular shape, with the three arms supporting the extruder at equal angles apart from each other, controlling the extruder's position.
Each arm can only move vertically up and down, but by moving each arm independently, the extruder is able to move in all directions. All the arms work together to achieve a single motion, requiring less movement to print the same object, so it is faster than a Cartesian machine.
